Sepulveda Basin Community Gardens Restrooms
Pleskow Architects
Provision of a basic amenity in a place of refuge within the ceaseless energy of the Los Angeles urban fabric. With a very simple public bathroom program the requirement for passive self-ventilation becomes the expression of the structure itself.
The use of 2 simple materials, concrete and cor-ten steel further exemplify the utility of the structure in a beautiful way.
I did not have the fortune of working on the design of this project, however I did lend some late stage construction management support in the form of RFI sketches and submittal reviews.
In addition, I completed concept models and renders for a competition submittal before the project had finished construction.
